Pretty nose of herbs and possibly lavender.  This is an understated, well-balanced wine, favoring balance and structure over forward fruit.  Very clean and subtle.  The tannins are decidedly soft with a velvety mouthfeel through the mid-palate.  Dark fruits and raspberries in the background.  Long finish.  This wine is expected to improve with age.

Food Pairings: Filet mignon or other delicate meat, aged cheese (gruyere).
The red fruit qualities inherent to Grenache (strawberries, dark cherries) with just a hint of tannin providing structure.  The finish is strongly reminiscent of mocha, or even chocolate.
